Türkiye and Egypt support Sudan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity

Ankara, Nov 13 (Prensa Latina) Türkiye and Egypt reaffirmed their support for Sudan's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and institutional order, while expressing deep concern about the conflict ravaging the African nation and its grave humanitarian consequences.

The statement is contained in a joint declaration signed by the Foreign Ministers of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan, and Egypt, Badr Abdel-Aty, following the first meeting of the Joint Planning Group held in Ankara.

The bilateral mechanism, co-chaired by both Foreign Ministers, was established under the joint declaration signed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, on February 14, 2024, in Cairo, with the aim of preparing the ground for the next meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

At the regional level, the Foreign Ministers agreed on the need to promote peace and stability in the Middle East. They highlighted the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, held on October 13, 2025, and the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza.

Both countries reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian people and their backing for the upcoming International Conference on the Recovery and Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, to be held in Egypt.
