Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian stated that the G7 foreign ministers’ statement “ignores the facts, confuses right with wrong, and is a blatant interference in China’s internal affairs.”
Lin underscored that the Taiwan issue is a domestic affair and its resolution rests exclusively with the Chinese people, without external intervention.
The spokesperson added that the situation in the South China Sea “remains stable,” and urged the group to “stop using maritime issues to provoke disputes and undermine regional peace.”
Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Lin asserted that China “has never supplied lethal weapons to either side” and maintains strict control over dual-use goods.
He also reiterated the country’s defense policy, which he described as “strictly defensive,” and specified that the level of its nuclear arsenal “is kept at the minimum necessary for national security.”
Lin urged, “The G7 must abandon its Cold War mentality, stop manipulating issues related to China and interfering in its internal affairs, and actually contribute to international cooperation and unity.”
