According to sources cited by the Syria TV website, the action is part of a series of similar movements in recent days.
In a previous incident, Israeli forces entered the village of Rasem Al-Qata, also in southern Quneitra, where they established a checkpoint that prevented residents from entering after subjecting them to searches.
Another recent incursion occurred in the nearby Abu Ghara area, where an additional checkpoint was set up, further tightening the military cordon around the villages in the area.
These actions coincided with the transfer of three Israeli tanks from Tel Al-Ahmar Al-Gharbi to Tel Al-Ahmar Al-Sharqi, though the reasons for these movements remain unknown.
Since Bashar al-Assad’s government left power in December 2014, incursions by Tel Aviv have become almost daily and have been accompanied by the arrest of civilians, some of whom were later released while others remain in custody.
At the same time, Israeli forces have repeatedly bombed residential areas, causing casualties among the population and prompting international calls for Tel Aviv to halt its actions and respect Syria’s sovereignty.
