The Foreign Minister made these remarks in an article titled “Russia and Laos: 65 Years of Friendship That Stood the Test of Time,” which he wrote for media outlets in that Asian country.
“We welcome Laos’s independent foreign policy, which includes its stance in the context of the Ukrainian crisis. It is clear that a sustainable solution to the conflict is only possible by eliminating its root causes,” the Russian Foreign Minister added.
He noted that it is necessary to guarantee Russia’s security, neutralize the threats of NATO’s aggressive expansion, and cease attempts to integrate Ukraine into this militaristic alliance.
The senior diplomat stressed that “it is also important to ensure respect for the rights of Russians and Russian speakers in territories controlled by the Kiev regime.”
