It is an exclusive blend of only 5,000 bottles produced every five years, with an annual release of 1,000.
In the context of FIHAV—which concludes today—Havana Club Internacional presented the rum with a family concept, just as the late Master of Rum of Cuba, Jose Pablo Navarro, would have preferred.
The bottle and its new look are part of the ongoing redesign of Iconica Havana Club and complement a rum that embodies the spirit, life, and work of Navarro, Master of Rum, Asbel Morales, explained.
He recalled that Iconica Don Navarro is a well-known young rum, born in 2022 from the expertise of all of Cuba’s master rum makers, using the foundations of Havana Club, and in honor of the master of masters.
Why Havana Club? Because it is the elder sibling in the family of Cuban rums, and it is a family code to respect the elder sibling, he said.
For his part, the leader of the Master Rum Makers Movement, Juan Carlos González, explained that Cuban rum is characterized by the complexity of the blends of base rums that contribute to the final product.
