Indigenous peoples of Bolivia at film festival

La Paz, Dec 2 (Prensa Latina) The 15th International Film and Communication Festival of Indigenous Peoples, Voices and Images of Our Mother Earth, will be inaugurated at Santa Cruz de la Sierra Training Center.

This opening is part of the Etseasa Medi Cultural Days, which will take place from December 2 to 8 at this cultural center.

During this period, free f charge, the public can enjoy a diverse program that also includes an Amazonian gastronomic workshop and two concerts that will fuse urban music with missionary traditions.

An intimate and profound look at four indigenous peoples of the Bolivian Amazon is the main focus of Etseasa Medi.

This project consists of an exhibition that, through images, sounds, and objects, invites visitors on a sensory journey through the territories, knowledge, and cultural expressions of the Tacana, Ese Ejja, Machineri, and Yaminahua peoples, who live in northern Bolivia, in the department of Pando.

The exhibition opens this Wednesday at the Spanish Cooperation Training Center in Santa Cruz (AECID) and includes photographs and videos by oZzo Ukumari, Eva Maria Coimbra, Wara Vargas, Andro Molina, Rudy Covarrubias, and Milton Sosa, along with texts by Claudia Cuellar and curated by Maria Schneider.

“Our great challenge is that, through the setting and the images, the viewer is transported to the territory and understands the culture, the ways of life, and the challenges these communities face,” explained Schneider, referring to the exhibition, which will remain open to the public until May 2026.
