Urgency to stop aggression against Venezuela, call highlights

San Salvador, Dec 3 (Prensa Latina) Faced with threats against Venezuela from the United States, such treachery must be stopped, according to a call published by the newspaper Colatino in El Salvador.

Under the title “Urgent Call to the American People: No to Aggression Against Venezuela!”, the report signed by journalist and international analyst Luis Manuel Arce emphasizes that Washington wants to seize the South American nation’s oil “invoking a war against drug trafficking that no one believes in.”

The text argues that we are not in the time when the United States unleashed war against Mexico in 1846 with its expansionist policy to annex half of that country’s territory.

It is impossible that 179 years later Donald Trump intends to emulate that policy to take over the oil and make that country “a place of high strategic military importance to dominate to run the entire continent and make it a protective shield against his competitors from Europe, Russia, and China,” he specified.

The analysis highlighted that Trump aims at “establishing himself as a dictator in the White House seeking to extend the terms of office provided by the Constitution.”

As part of these aspirations, the analysis pointed out, the U.S. president “is building supposed pillars of the most traitorous far-right on the continent to play along with his ambition of absolute dominance over Latin America and the Caribbean.”

In his appeal to the American people, the analyst remembers that, as with Salvador Allende during the 1973 Pinochet coup, President Nicolas Maduro proclaimed that the Venezuelan people will defend their convictions. Their patriotic feeling to the ultimate consequences.
