In October, inflation climbed to 4.08 percent, up from 4.32 percent, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE) in its Consumer Price Index report.
The monthly inflation rate was 0.14 percent, while the year-to-date rate was 3.74 percentage points. According to the INE report, the main contributors to inflation in October were primarily the food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.06 percent), health (0.03 percent), transportation (0.07 percent), and restaurants and accommodation services (0.04 percent) sectors.
Meanwhile, core inflation (excluding vegetables, fruits, and fuels) rose 0.28 percent month-on-month, with a year-to-date increase of 3.84 percent and a 12-month increase of 4.38 percent.
