“With Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have much to discuss because cooperation with India is extensive. And the history of our ties is truly unique,” he stressed.

Putin highlighted the remarkable progress India has made since gaining independence in just 77 years. “India has undergone a colossal development. You know, in today’s world, we barely notice the changes that occur. And if we look back a little, what has happened in India is truly remarkable,” he added.

The Russian head of state cited life expectancy as an example, which “has doubled in this time,” he said.

The president commented that relations between Moscow and New Delhi are developing across numerous sectors.

“And I’m very pleased to be able to see Prime Minister Modi, with whom we have not only formal but also personal ties,” he emphasized.
