In the social network X, the Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out that a recent analysis by the Cubadebate Media Observatory unveils an “investigation” which, under the guise of neutrality, tries to present itself as evidence of an alleged manipulation by the Cuban State on its health cooperation.
Rodriguez stressed the double standard applied in Western discourse: while the Cuban government’s information actions are qualified as “manipulation”, the campaigns promoted by Western governments, private foundations or entities funded by Washington are framed as legitimate expression of “civil society”.
He also pointed out that when citizens share content favorable to Cuba on social networks, they are branded “digital troops”, but those who articulate hostile campaigns against the island are portrayed as “freedom activists”.
According to figures from the Ministry of Public Health, more than 605,000 professionals in this field have served missions in 165 nations over the last 60 years.
Their achievements in the fight against Ebola in Africa, blindness in Latin America and the Caribbean, cholera in Haiti, and confronting the Covid-19 pandemic stand out.
