Mexco: Government program maintains positive impact i the countryside

Mexico City, Dec. 16 (Prensa Latina) The Mexican program "Fertilizers for Well-being" continues its positive impact, having reached a record delivery of 1.044 million tons this year, supporting 2.15 million producers.

In a press release, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development specified that the initiative, present in all 32 states of the country, served a total of 3.54 million hectares of strategic crops.

In 2025, the Ministry distributed 442,500 tons of DAP and 601,500 tons of urea, representing a 5.9 percent increase compared to the previous year, resulting from the opening of application windows for new beneficiaries.

The program’s vision, according to the institution, is based on principles of equality and social justice, with progress in reducing historical inequalities through support for more than 833,700 female farmers and 860,900 Indigenous people (493,200 men and 367,700 women).

The support provided focused on key crops for national food security, including corn, beans, coffee, and sugarcane.

“The direct and timely delivery of these inputs has been fundamental in boosting the production of staple grains and consolidating the path toward food self-sufficiency,” the Ministry of Agriculture emphasized, highlighting that the project translates into better conditions for thousands of families in rural areas.

“Fertilizers for Well-being,” considered a priority program, seeks to promote food sovereignty and self-sufficiency, as well as guarantee social justice in rural areas.
