According to the source, Damascus delegation is headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, and the head of the General Intelligence Department, Hussein al-Salameh, who are participating in the negotiations with the Israeli side.
The resumption of dialogue, according to SANA, reflects Damascus’s commitment to restoring its inalienable national rights and defending its sovereignty.
SANA specified that the talks are focused on reviving the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
The main objective, it added, is to ensure the withdrawal of Israeli forces to the positions they held before December 8, 2014, and to move toward an equitable security agreement that prioritizes full Syrian sovereignty and prevents any form of interference in its internal affairs.
