“On Thursday we will release the security report. The number of homicides dropped even further in December; we received the data today,” the mayor stated last Tuesday during her regular meeting with the media at the National Palace.
The administration is implementing a security strategy based on four pillars: addressing the root causes, consolidating the National Guard, strengthening intelligence and investigation, and coordinating with the states.
As a result, law enforcement agencies arrested 38,700 people for high-impact crimes, seized 311 tons of drugs and 20,000 firearms, and dismantled 1,760 methamphetamine production labs between October 2024 and November 30 of this year.
These operations led to a 37 percent decrease in the daily average of intentional homicides during the first 14 months of the current administration, according to data from the National Public Security System.
