“It has been announced that I will be joining the Royal Ballet as a principal dancer for the 2026-2027 season, and it truly is a dream come true,” he wrote yesterday on his Facebook page.
The young man thanked Kevin O’Hare, the company’s director, “for this incredible opportunity, for taking such good care of me, and for making this moment so special.”
“Days like this remind me how important it is to stop, reflect, and thank those who have made this journey possible,” he noted.
He extended his gratitude to his family, friends, and especially to his teacher, Ismel, for his tireless work.
To Mary Cunxin, who has been my salvation countless times, and to Li Cunxin, my idol as a dancer and who has treated me like a son from day one, thank you from the bottom of my heart, he added.
He also expressed his gratitude to all the teachers who have guided, challenged, and supported him along the way.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have had people who believed in me, even in times when I didn’t believe in myself, he remarked.
