A statement released by the Presidential Palace indicated that after a busy schedule in the Dominican Republic, Kast was unable to travel to El Salvador due to flight cancellations in the United States, where he was scheduled to connect to his flight.

The statement added that alternative arrangements are being explored to accommodate the visit and coordinate it with Kast’s schedule in Panama, where he will participate in the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Forum.

Here in El Salvador, the Chilean politician was scheduled to visit the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) today to learn firsthand about the confinement model implemented by President Nayib Bukele to combat gangs and violence in the country.
