Speaking at an event with oil sector workers in Puerto La Cruz, Anzoátegui state, the president stated that she will “engage in diplomatic battle, face to face,” with the US government to resolve historical differences and controversies “because we are not afraid.”
She asserted that if anything should unite us today as a people, it is guaranteeing the peace and tranquility of this nation, and she called for national unity in the spirit of the heroes of independence.
“We are not afraid, enough of Washington’s orders to Venezuelan politicians!” she emphasized, referring to the opposition political class subservient to the United States, and advocated for Venezuelan politics to “resolve our differences and internal conflicts.”
Rodriguez stated that the goal is to safeguard domestic stability and affirmed that dignity and honor will be the guiding principles of this international dialogue process.
In the acting president’s view, foreign interference “has cost this Republic dearly,” such as having to face the consequences of fascism in the country.
She alluded to those who promoted the military attack against the country and stated that “they do not deserve the recognition of the Venezuelan people.”
“Those who dared to go to the United States to thank them for the bombing do not deserve the dignity of this country, nor its people, much less the recognition of the Venezuelan people,” she emphasized.
