Through the Miraflores al Momento platform (@ALMomento_M), the Executive Branch shared a post from the international section of the newspaper La Vanguardia, which stated that the “Chavista regime maintains tight control over the media.”
The post also showed an alleged protest in Maracaibo, Zulia state, demanding the release of political prisoners.
“Another fake news story debunked,” wrote Gustavo Villapol, Venezuelan Vice Minister of Communication and Information. The Vice Minister affirmed that “they can lie, but the truth always prevails at Miraflores al Momento.”
In recent days, disinformation against Venezuela and its political leadership, including the interim president and the secretary general of the United Socialist Party, Diosdado Cabello, has intensified. According to the authorities themselves, this disinformation is intended to discredit them and sow doubt.
