“(…) In the square that bears his name in downtown La Paz, the Solidarity Movement with Cuba, along with the Cuban Embassy in Bolivia, invites the public to a political-cultural event to pay tribute to him on his birthday,” the magazine stresses regarding the author of Our America, introducing an exclusive interview with Cuban Ambassador Elba Rosa Perez.
Perez affirmed, “His thought, work, and example remain entirely relevant, continuing to guide current and future generations, not only in Cuba.”
The diplomat recalled Marti’s calls for unity among the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean to confront the United States, and underscored that these calls are more urgent than ever after the invasion ordered by President Donald Trump against Venezuela to kidnap President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
He emphasized that “Trump’s recent threats to the Cuban Government and people have been met with composure, and by redoubling our preparedness, information, and unity.
Cuba is a free, sovereign, and independent nation and has known these methods since the beginning of the Revolution’s triumph.”
“The tribute will be held on January 28 at Jose Marti square in La Paz to honor the memory of Marti, Fidel, and the Cuban Revolution,” the Correo del ALBA online edition concludes.
