The Defense Ministry’s Communications Department informed that several unmanned aerial vehicles and other kamikaze aircraft used by the SDF were shot down near the city of Ain al-Arab/Kobani, east of Aleppo province.
The Army Operations Command previously reported that the militia launched more than 25 suicide drones against military positions around Kobani, as well as against homes in the town of Sarrin, resulting in several injuries.
The source added that this escalation also caused the destruction of four military vehicles and reported repeated attacks on the M4 highway and several surrounding villages, leaving civilians wounded.
In response to these events, the Syrian Army affirmed that it is assessing its options for responding to the attacks on military and civilian targets, and assured that it will take the necessary steps to protect the population and its forces deployed in the area.
Despite the reports, the Defense Ministry announced on Saturday a 15-day extension of the ceasefire with the SDF on all fronts in northeastern Syria.
