On the occasion of this January 28 of the Apostle’s 173rd birthday and after heading last night the parade for the this day of history, in the year of the centenary also of the birth of Fidel Castro, the Cuban “the torches of the Centenary of #Marti and those of the Centenary of #Fidel give warmth and light to the battle to conquer all justice”.

Diaz-Canel, firmly declared that “they will not stop us”, thus responding to the decision to move forward despite difficult times and “the brutality of threats against #Cuba,” he added.

In the publication, the head of state stated that “this challenge and our youth give us a lot of strength”.

Yesterday, the president of the Caribbean nation, together with the highest authorities of the Communist Party and the government of the island, accompanied thousands of Cubans, mostly young people, on the night walk that left from the steps of the University of Havana to the Fragua Martiana.

The tradition was born at midnight on January 27, 1953, when the Generation of the Centenary, led by the young Fidel Castro, commemorated the centenary of the birth of the Apostle, in an act that preceded the assault on the Moncada Barracks.
