Harare, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) The tribute in Zimbabwe to Cuba's National Hero, Jose Marti, on his 173rd birthday, made headlines in The Herald newspaper and the ZBC television network, the leading media outlets in this nation.

“Zimbabwe and Cuba Reaffirm Solidarity in Commemoration of Jose Marti,” headlined The Herald, whowting the words of Ambassador Susellys Perez Mesa, who affirmed that not only is Marti honored as a key figure in independence, but we also draw inspiration from his ideals to face contemporary international challenges.

Our relations are excellent, and we are working to move forward concrete results, Perez Mesa stated, after mentioning, among other milestones, visits to the island in 2025 by two ministers and three deputy ministers, with memoranda of understanding signed for negotiations in several areas.

The newspaper noted that Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) Youth League Political Commissar Taurai Kandishaya assured that the tribute reflects the historical solidarity forged during the liberation struggle and later with the deployment of medical professionals.

Meanwhile, ZBC highlighted the celebration at the Cuban Embassy in Harare, to which diplomats, academics, civil society organizations, and friendship associations attended, to underscore the historical bilateral ties forged over decades of political, educational, and medical cooperation.
