The COE, in collaboration with the Regional Government of Andalusia and CETURSA (the public company dedicated to skiing and mountaineering in Sierra Nevada), aims to allow fans to experience the atmosphere of the Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in Milano-Cortina d’Ampezzo on the same dates.
The event will become a territorial and emotional extension of the Milano-Cortina Games, offering thousands of people the opportunity to enjoy the Olympic experience without having to travel to the official venue, the COE stated in a press release.
He added that the initiative is inspired by the international Fan Zone concept and will combine sport, culture, and leisure in a festive, educational, and participatory environment, aligned with the values of Olympism.
All of this will be enlivened by the presence of Tina and Milo, the official mascots of Milano-Cortina, who will energize the activities aimed especially at families, the source explained.
In this regard, the Spanish Olympic Committee has developed a program of activities that will include ice skating exhibitions with leading Olympic athletes such as Javier Fernandez, Javier Raya, and Rocio Delgado.
In addition, there will be official competitions organized by the Andalusian Winter Sports Federation, as well as various roundtables, in collaboration with the University of Granada, where topics such as the dual career of athletes and the importance of eradicating hate speech in sport will be addressed.
