In a message published in X, Carmona warned of the deep concern generated internationally following President Donald Trump’s declaration that Cuba poses a threat to US security.
This action, coupled with the threat of imposing tariffs on those who sell fuel to the island, only deepens the criminal blockade that the Cuban people have resisted for decades, he noted.
The top leader of the PCCh called for denouncing this attack and for increased solidarity with Cuba, a sovereign nation that, he said, deserves respect.
On social media, Deputy and Communist Party member Carmen Hertz expressed her support for Cuba and highlighted the Caribbean island’s steadfastness in the face of aggression from an empire that, in its decline, acts like a wounded beast.
“But neither the claws of desperation, nor more than 60 years of a genocidal blockade, have been able, nor will they ever be able, to touch the dignity and unwavering courage of the Cuban people,” she stated.
