“If we understand that Ukrainian territory will not be used as a springboard to create threats to Russia, Ukraine’s security will be guaranteed,” the deputy minister confirmed to the press.
In that context, he denounced that, from the West, time and again, only mention is made of the conditions for the stability of Kiev, “but I don’t remember a single statement in recent months, or even years, in which anyone has said that security guarantees for Russia should be part of a peace agreement, of a peace formula,” he denounced.
Grushko reiterated that it is absolutely obvious to anyone that the best support for Ukrainian integrity is firm and unrestricted respect for the territorial stability of Russia.
Regarding the resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Moscow has repeatedly made it clear that the only way to reach agreements is by eliminating the root causes of the crisis.
These include: restoring Ukraine to a neutral status outside of any bloc; the demilitarization and denazification of the country; and Kyiv’s respect for the linguistic, cultural, and religious rights and freedoms of Russians, Russian-speaking citizens, and representatives of national minorities.
