“I will create the party after the elections, as it is impossible to form one now that can participate in these snap elections,” the former president declared.
Radev stated that his goal is “to dismantle the current management model and strengthen the state.”
Local analysts give him a high probability of becoming prime minister, while they believe his entry into the electoral contest will energize the political landscape and could help forge a new, stable parliamentary majority.
The elections, the eighth in five years, will be called after the parties failed to form a government.
Radev’s participation is seen as a key factor in overcoming the chronic political crisis in the Balkan country.
