Middle East wants to prevent US aggression against Iran

Cairo, Feb 1 (Prensa Latina) The Middle East is currently experiencing a frenzy of contacts between governments to try to prevent a likely US aggression against Iran, amid the belligerent rhetoric of the administration of US President Donald Trump.

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, announced on his X profile that the formulation of a framework for negotiations with Washington is progressing.

Larijani traveled to Moscow, where he was received by President Vladimir Putin, who called for dialogue to prevent a new conflict in the region.

Trump confirmed to Fox News last night that the two countries are “talking,” but immediately added, “We will see if we can do something; otherwise, we will see what happens.”

As part of the efforts to reduce tensions, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, conveying that Tehran is seeking a diplomatic solution.

“We neither want nor seek war,” the president affirmed, while also assuring that his country will defend itself if attacked.
