Cuong made the remark upon receiving Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, who is visiting this nation as a special envoy of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Cuban Government.
The Vietnamese head of State also affirmed, “Vietnam will deepen, stabilize, and maintain bilateral cooperation in all fields, maximizing the strengths of both sides to contribute to the development of each country.”
In the context of the current complex global situation, consolidating and developing the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba is not only the responsibility of each Party and each country, but also the aspiration of their peoples, he noted.
The Vietnamese president also emphasized that the visit of a special envoy of the PCC and the Cuban Government immediately following the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is a special political gesture that vividly demonstrates the close and reliable relationship between the two Parties, States, and peoples.
He also recalled the glorious history of the ties between the two countries, meticulously maintained by President Ho Chi Minh and the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and emphasized that the Vietnam-Cuba relationship “is an invaluable asset, a symbol of the times, tested by the flames of war and the vicissitudes of history.”
