Liu Haixing, head of the CPC’s International Liaison Department, met with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, who traveled to this capital as a special envoy of the CPC and the Cuban government.
Both sides emphasized that inter-party ties are the cornerstone of the bilateral relationship.
The high-ranking Chinese official expressed his best wishes to the people and government of the island, while underscoring the dynamism of relations between Beijing and Havana.
Rodriguez conveyed greetings and best wishes for peace, prosperity, and health to the Chinese people on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.
He noted that this meeting takes place amidst a changing and dangerous global context, characterized by a rapid deterioration of the international order, which translates into threats to peace and the sovereignty of nations.
Both sides agreed on their vision of world affairs and reaffirmed the importance of maintaining stability and respect for international law, in accordance with the UN Charter.
