On the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the triumph of the Islamic Revolution in Iran The head of Cuban diplomacy, in a publication on the social network X, highlighted in the bilateral relationship “the historical ties of friendship and cooperation existing”.
Likewise, the Foreign Ministry of the island in its official portal of the platform itself, highlighted the date by extending “cordial congratulations” with the wish that the celebration “serve to ratify the will to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation that unite our nations”, pointed out.
On February 11,1979, the Islamic Revolution led by Imam Ruhollah Khomeini triumphed and put an end to the regime of Mohamad Reza Pahlavi, in power since September 16, 1941.
Cuba was one of the first countries to recognize the Iranian Revolution.
The two States maintain diplomatic relations, which were formalized on August 8 of that year and have continued to this day.
