This Thursday, Patricia Patiño, a deputy from the Christian Democratic Party (PDC), denounced the existence of an alleged “corruption triangle” within YPFB, which, she claimed, has been in place since the administration of former President Luis Arce.

She described this structure as involving politicians, executives of the state-owned corporation, and private companies linked to the hydrocarbon sector.

Patiño accused an alleged “garbage gasoline cartel” of being behind the circulation of adulterated fuel, which has damaged hundreds of vehicles throughout the country.

“I’ve called it the ‘garbage gasoline cartel: from the lithium lobby to fuel adulteration,’ highlighting the corrupt ties within YPFB and, above all, the vested interests of certain individuals,” explained the congresswoman, according to DTV.

Patiño specified that the alleged network is comprised of Marcelo Arce Mosqueira (son of the former president), identified as the “great lithium negotiator”; Jorge Alberto Roca, former president of Lithium One Bolivia, a subsidiary of the Russian company Uranium One Group, and current director of YPFB.

Roca is also a partner in the private company Energy Oil Corporation PM SRL, which is responsible for fuel transportation.

The congresswoman pointed to the current president of YPFB, Yussef Akly, who, she commented, has maintained contractual ties with Roca since the previous administration (2020-2025), demonstrating the continuity of these connections.
