The book’s synopsis, published by Letras Cubanas, describes the protagonists’ adventures in Moscow as unfolding “within a coherent interweaving of themes, amidst Orthodox churches and the aromas of sauerkraut and carnations.”
“These souls follow their destinies embodied in a human being, and drift like futile spirits haunted by the constant search for the identity lost in their distant Cuba, where secret passions germinate, passions that are, ultimately, the true reasons for their existence,” the editorial note states.
The presentation of Anima fatua (2007) will take place at 11:00 a.m. local time on Calle de Madera, located on one side of Plaza de Armas, in front of the City Museum, in Old Havana.
Born in 1968 in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), Anna Lidia Vega has also published the short story collections Bad Painting (1998), Catalogo de mascotas (1999), Limpiando ventanas y espejos (2001), Imperio domestico (2005), El dia de cada dia (2006), and Tres pasos para un pez (2014), as well as the novel Noche de ronda (2002).
