Speaking to national television on the sidelines of the 39th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly, Hernandez underscored the direct impact of that unilateral policy on the full development of Havana’s economic, trade, and cooperation relations with African countries.

The diplomat noted that these actions are an obstacle to joint initiatives in key sectors, affecting not only the Cuban people but also shared efforts for mutual benefit.

The ambassador reaffirmed Cuba’s firm commitment to continue strengthening its historic ties with Africa, based on solidarity, mutual respect, and South-South cooperation.

Upon sharing his impressions of the AU Summit, he highlighted the spirit of unity and cooperation among the member states, as well as the importance of advancing strategic priorities for the continent.

Hernandez conveyed his best wishes for the success of the deliberations and the continued strengthening of ties between Africa and Cuba.
