Upon receiving Cuban Ambassador to this nation, Santiago Perez, Ryzhenkov reaffirmed his country’s unwavering policy of friendship and solidarity with the Caribbean nation in complex times.
Perez told Prensa Latina that the Belarusian foreign minister expressed, during the meeting, the willingness of President Alexander Lukashenko and his administration to provide humanitarian aid to alleviate the energy crisis Cuba is facing.
The Cuban ambassador also commented that both nations are working to strengthen economic and trade ties in several sectors, issues to be discussed at the next Cuba-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission meeting, scheduled for March.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry previously condemned the oil blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States on January 29.
