“The Russian side confirmed its support for the negotiation process, whose objective is to find just political and diplomatic solutions that respect Iran’s legitimate rights, in accordance with the principles of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons,” the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
The diplomatic department in Moscow explained that the dialogue took place at Tehran’s initiative, and that specific issues on the bilateral agenda of mutual interest were also addressed.
Although the demonstrations subsided after a short time, the United States maintained pressure, redirecting its argument toward the Persian nation’s nuclear and missile programs.
On February 6, the first day of indirect talks between the United States and Iran on the nuclear issue took place in Muscat, Oman. After the meeting, Trump asserted that “Tehran seems very interested in reaching an agreement.”
For their part, Iranian authorities described the atmosphere as “positive” and confirmed their willingness to keep the dialogue open.
At the same time, the Persian nation has repeatedly stated that it is prepared to respond to any “strategic error” by the White House with “heavy” blows. Furthermore, they warned that a complete halt to uranium enrichment is “absolutely unacceptable” for the country.
