According to the semi-official Mehr news agency, the exercises included live fire in several southern regions and on islands in the Persian Gulf, as part of actions aimed at strengthening combat readiness.

Images broadcast by Iranian television showed the simultaneous deployment of multiple armed units during the maneuvers, in both land and coastal scenarios.

On February 17, Iran conducted similar exercises in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, strategic points for global energy transit, with the stated objective of countering security threats.

The maneuvers coincide with an increased US military presence in the Middle East and amid warnings of possible action against Iran related to its nuclear and missile programs, as well as its support for allies in the region.
