Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized Beijing’s opposition to any action that violates the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter and infringes upon the sovereignty of other countries.
Mao responded in this way following statements made by Cruz, who asserted that the governments of these three States could be replaced by US-allied administrations within the next six months.
In the case of Cuba, China has repeatedly reiterated its firm support for the island in the face of external interference and actions that affect the right to subsistence of its people.
Beijing has also stated that it will do everything possible, as always, to support and assist Cuba.
Regarding Venezuela, after Washington’s military strike, China called on the United States to release President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, and cease its attempts to subvert order in that country.
Regarding Iran and the rising tensions with Washington, China reiterated its rejection of external interference and threats of using force in the Middle East, while calling for restraint from all parties in favor of peace.
