The debate took place on Monday evening at the auditorium of the Institute of Human Sciences at the University of Brasilia (UnB), as part of the preparatory campaign for the National Meeting of Pedagogy Students.
Professor Rogerio Basali; Pedro Batista, of Antifascist International, Brazil chapter; and Sayid Marcos Tenorio, vice president of the Brazil-Palestine Institute, were the leading speakers.
Also participating were Venezuelan Freddy Meregote, of the Committee for the Liberation of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores; and Ahmed Mulay Ali, Ambassador representing the Polisario Front of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
The speakers underscored that internationalist unity is a key tool for confronting external aggression and defending the sovereignty of peoples, and insisted on the need to strengthen political organization, critical awareness, and coordination among social movements.
Before concluding the meeting, the participants approved a joint declaration expressing their rejection of several forms of foreign intervention and reaffirming their support for the struggles of peoples to remain free.
