Angola to hand over OACSP presidency to Equatorial Guinea

Luanda, March 27 (Prensa Latina) Angolan President João Lourenço will travel to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, to participate tomorrow in the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACSP).

At this meeting, which brings together representatives from 80 countries in these geographic regions, the Angolan president will hand over the rotating OACSP presidency to Equatorial Guinea.

The meeting is being held under the theme “A Transformed and Renewed Organization in a Changing World” and will include a review of Angola’s term, which began in 2022. In addition, the Small Island Developing States Forum and the Youth Forum are taking place within the context of the meeting, and discussions will be held on South-South cooperation as an engine for transformation, and on strengthening alliances for nations resilient to climate change.

This Friday marks the organization’s Council of Ministers meeting, and tomorrow’s agenda includes the presidential handover ceremony, while Sunday will be the closing session.
