According to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, the attacks targeted the Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) plant in the UAE and Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) in Bahrain, citing their ties to the US military industry.
In a statement, the IRGC asserted that both plants play a significant role in production chains associated with the US military sector, noting that EMAL has one of the world’s largest aluminum production capacities, at 1.3 million tons annually.
For its part, Alba confirmed that one of its facilities was hit, resulting in two minor injuries, while Emirates Global Aluminium reported damage to its Al Taweelah plant, located in the Khalifa Economic Zone.
Iranian authorities accused the United States and Israel of previously attacking industrial infrastructure inside Iran from bases located on the southern coast of the Persian Gulf, prompting the announced military response.
Since the end of February, the confrontation between Iran, on one side, and the United States and Israel, on the other, has intensified with exchanges of attacks that have caused hundreds of casualties and damage to infrastructure in several countries.
In parallel, Tehran expanded its operations toward what it considers US interests and positions in Arab countries, actions that have been rejected by governments in the region, which are demanding an immediate cessation of hostilities.
