Symphonic composition Peter and the Wolf comes to Bogota stages

Bogota, March 29 (Prensa Latina) Sergey Prokofiev's symphonic composition Peter and the Wolf is coming to Colombian stages as a contemporary reinterpretation of the Russian classic through a symbiosis of live music, dance, and narration.

This choreographic version features dancers on stage, narration by author Juan Pablo Raba, and music by the Bogota Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at the Julio Mario Santo Domingo Major Theater, as part of the Bogota International Festival of Living Arts (FIAV 2026).

Music will not be the only protagonist of the show; dance, puppetry, and visual arts will be incorporated to narrate the adventure, evoke emotions, and create unforgettable characters.

This year’s FIAV program takes place in emblematic venues throughout Colombia’s capital, where audiences can enjoy theatrical pieces from Colombia, New Zealand, China, and Ireland.

Among the works and groups participating are ‘Ballet Poulet’ by Fanzini Productions, ‘The Flow’ by Lai Ye, the Barranquilla Carnival, the Ovejas Gaita Festival, and the Son de Negro Festival of Santa Lucia, along with more than fifteen Colombian companies and collectives bringing their creations directly to the public.

Until April 5, there will be performances in 24 theaters and more than eleven open spaces. The program will feature 27 international, 32 national, and 43 local productions, with an equal presence of stories and traditions from the Kogui and Wayúu indigenous peoples, and the participation of members of these communities.
