This year marks its 23rd edition, committed to preserving a festival that enjoys widespread public support. Therefore, the Organizing Committee has had to adapt the event to the current circumstances.
Until April 5, the festival promises concerts in Ciego de Avila and the municipality of Moron, as well as the “Eagle of the Trocha” parade and a cultural outreach program through communities and educational institutions.
This last initiative strengthens the exchange between students and guest artists.
This year, the city’s Teatro Principal opens its doors as a key venue, along with the Teatro Reguero in Moron and the provincial headquarters of the Hermanos Saíz Association and the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, among other spaces.
Local talents, the duo Buena Fe, Toques del Rio, the Failde Orchestra, and Niurka Reyes are among the participating musicians.
The event, dedicated to the Ciego de Avila-born artist Lucy Safont, will hold its tenth annual Music and Youth Symposium this August, given its importance and the complex situation the country is facing.
Pina Colada also celebrates the anniversaries of the Hermanos Saiz Association, the Young League, and the Jose Marti Pioneer Organization.
