“We are proud to be able to celebrate this event at our institution, given that communities are an important artery in national artistic work,” Lien Lucía García, vice president of the Quisicuaba religious institution, told Prensa Latina in an exclusive interview.
The program included pieces such as Tiempo de Vals and La Ternura from the Vocational Workshop of the Fernando Alonso National Ballet School, as well as En Clave from the National Dance School and Tango para un Encuentro by the Olivian Danza company.
The Corina Mestre National Theater School offered a stage performance, while the group Todo Concuerda performed works such as Mozart’s Alla Turca and Ernesto Lecuona’s Comparsa.
“In Todo Concuerda, we fuse classical and popular music, and this has been a great opportunity to showcase our talent at such an important event as the Meeting of Academies for Ballet Teaching and, at the same time, bring our work to the community,” pianist Lya Azul, a member of the group, told the agency.
The day concluded with a tribute to Benny More, performed by the L y 19 Elementary Dance School, which received prolonged applause from the audience.
