According to a statement broadcast on Iranian state television, the aircraft was detected and destroyed by forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The official statement specified that the incident was confirmed from the IRGC headquarters in Markazi province, and emphasized that the number of drones shot down by these forces since the start of hostilities on February 28 exceeds 160.
Since that date, Iran has faced a military offensive by Israel and the United States that has left thousands dead and wounded, while Tehran responds by launching missiles and drones against Israeli territory.
Iranian authorities also claim that their attacks target US interests in Arab countries, although some of these attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure, incidents condemned by the affected nations.
