Tehran rejects negotiations that could allow resumption of attacks

Tehran, April 10 (Prensa Latina) Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi stated that his country will not accept any negotiation process that could open the door to the resumption of attacks against it.

According to Tasnim news agency, the official made these statements during a meeting held today in Tehran with foreign ambassadors and diplomatic representatives.

Takht-Ravanchi expressed that the United States has agreed to begin talks based on a 10-point Iranian proposal, and stressed the need to obtain firm guarantees preventing the resumption of hostilities as a condition for achieving a permanent ceasefire.

He also maintained that Iran’s responses to the US and Israeli attacks were directed against US bases and facilities in the region, and described these actions as “defensive operations.”

The deputy minister added that these bases were used to launch military attacks against Iranian territory.

In this context, he confirmed that both sides agreed to begin direct talks on Saturday in Islamabad, mediated by Pakistan, based on the Iranian proposal.

Takht-Ravanchi also expressed his gratitude to the countries that condemned the attacks against Iran, while criticizing some European countries for supporting them instead of denouncing them, stating that they “are on the wrong side of history.”

For his part, US President Donald Trump announced his acceptance of a two-week truce in the attacks against Iran, conditional on the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the implementation of a bilateral ceasefire.
