Oxfam denounces collapse of ceasefire and humanitarian crisis in Gaza

Ramallah, Apr 12 (Prensa Latina) Six months after the ceasefire, Palestinians in yoGaza Strip are still facing a daily struggle to survive, even though US President Donald Trump promised to lead an extraordinary recovery, Oxfam denounced.

Trump’s plan stalled, after which he diverted his attention from the crisis, Abby Maxman, president and CEO of Oxfam America, criticized.

Maxman said, “Six months later, the Palestinian population continues to suffer the same: going to bed hungry in flooded tents, queuing for hours for drinking water, and succumbing to illness and injury without a healthcare system or basic medical supplies.”

The official condemned the Israeli airstrikes on the coastal enclave, home to more than two million people.

Maxman insisted, “We cannot look the other way: Gaza needs our support and pressure on our leaders until they fulfill their promise of peace, now more than ever.”

The humanitarian organization emphasized that the Palestinians “continue to suffer extreme deprivation, hunger, injuries, and deaths due to the ongoing attacks and movement restrictions” imposed by Israel.
