In a statement, the Iranian elite force affirmed that both the Army and the Revolutionary Guard are prepared to react forcefully to any act it described as “aggressive and criminal.”
It also stated that Iran will “avenge” those killed aboard the Dina, sunk by US forces on March 4 in international waters.
The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions, after Iran and the United States announced on Sunday the end of negotiations held in Islamabad without reaching an agreement to end the conflict.
Both sides are maintaining a two-week truce, announced on April 8 with Pakistani mediation, as a prelude to possible broader talks.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, indicated that Tehran would treat the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon with caution.
The day before, US President Donald Trump announced a 10-day truce in Lebanon, following talks with his Lebanese counterpart, Joseph Aoun, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The cessation of hostilities took effect at midnight (local time), amid persistent tensions and warnings of escalation in the region.
