The encounter will also pay tribute to the magazine Origenes and the intellectuals who, around that publication, fostered a unique poetic and cultural movement in 20th-century Cuba, whose relevance continues to resonate with current generations.
The event will begin next Friday and will bring together intellectuals and artists in a space for academic, poetic, and musical reflection, the institution highlighted.
The event includes lectures, readings, and talks, as well as a tribute to pianist and composer Julian Orbion, considered “the musician of Origenes,” the cultural center explained on social media.
The event will feature testimony from maestro and musician Jose Maria Vitier Garcia Marruz and a performance of Tres Cantigas del Rey by the Ensemble Cantabile, in what promises to be a concert bridging tradition and contemporary music.
The event will take place at Casa Vitier Garcia Marruz, located on the corner of San Ignacio and O’Reilly streets in Havana’s Old Section.
