At the ceremony, Osnay Colina, president of the organizing committee for the 22nd CTC Congress, presented the Lazaro Pena Order, Second Class, for extraordinary service to Mabel Acea, general secretary of the Civilian Defense Workers’ Union, who has served as a leader for over 43 years.

The order, Third Class, was awarded to Lourdes Soria, a member of the Secretariat for Commerce, Gastronomy, and Services, who has over 30 years of union work.

The Jesus Menendez Medal was also awarded to Nadesde Guiado, an official with the Civilian Defense Workers’ Union, for 25 years of outstanding service. Alberto Pujols, from the Transportation and Ports sector, and Miguel Godines, from the National Secretariat’s administration, with 22 years of service in that organization, were honored.

At the ceremony held at the CTC’s national headquarters, the 85th Anniversary Seal was also awarded to five outstanding women workers in various sectors for their union work.

A commemorative postage stamp celebrating May 1st, International Workers’ Day, was also unveiled at the event.
