Bogota, Apr 28 (Prensa Latina) President Gustavo Petro called for an investigation into whether the explosives used in the attack that killed 20 civilians in Cauca, amid the escalating violence currently affecting southwest Colombia, came from Ecuador.

Petro also stated that the ammunition for the attacks would be supplied by the Drug Trafficking Board (which he defined as a confederation of transnational mafias based in the Middle East) to the fronts of illegal groups in Cauca, and it would come from Ecuadorian territory.

The president explained that it would aim to interfenre in the elections to give an advantage to the far right.

The head of State noted that the Drug Trafficking Board is the structure that controls the Gulf Clan, the self-proclaimed Central General Staff, whose leader is alias ‘Ivan Mordisco,’ and others; therefore, he is “not surprised that the groups in Cauca are trying to sabotage the elections.”

The president informed that he denounced alias Mordisco at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crimes against humanity, whose fronts are attributed with the attacks plaguing southwest Colombia, and the court accepted his complaint.

Petro also stated that Colombia is no longer the world’s largest exporter of cocaine, and instead pointed to Ecuador.
