The distinction, along with the Lazaro Pena Order in the First, Second, and Third Degrees, and the Jesus Menendez Medal, was granted to other workers and labor collectives during the state decorations ceremony of the Cuban Workers Confederation (CTC).

Other leaders of the Cuban government and the Communist Party (PCC) also participated in the ceremony, which took place in the context of the island’s May Day celebrations.
